For the last art of this particular castles, countrysides, and cities series, I decided to create another piece from my last UK trip. I chose to create art of the Stonebow Gate in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, UK. Lincoln is also the home of the Lincoln Cathedral, which I also drew as art in the same series. The Stonebow Gate is a very fascinating structure in Downtown Lincoln. The original structure was first completed in early 211 AD. The present structure was originally built in 1520 AD with a Victorian extension completed in the 1840s. I find the structure so fascinating as you don’t see many structures like this in the United States. It is without doubt, one of the most elaborate gates I have ever seen. I took photos of the gate when I was up early one morning when I visited Lincoln in December. I walked into Downtown to grab a coffee and around 7AM, I noticed the gate was up against a very unique, moody sky.
