I’m very pleased to inform all of you that two of my pieces, Childhood and Judy Heumann/ 504 will both be at a show at the United Nations in New York from April-June 2025! I am very honored to have my art at the United Nations.
The show is for the “Stroke of Genius” honoring people with autism like myself. I will send my pieces over this week. I will let you know if I end up going to New York for this! The theme for this show is autism, disability, and neurodiversity advocacy. I decided to submit my “Childhood” and “Judy Heumann/ 504” pieces to the show.
Both pieces were created using mixed mediums. “Childhood” reflects my feelings about my childhood with autism. I felt that my behaviors were being monitored and watched over, when I wanted to have inner peace. “Judy Heumann/ 504” honors the late disability activist, Judy Heumann. Heumann participated in a sit-in in 1977 to have the first disability regulations, Section 504, signed into law.
I’m very excited to see the pieces up- either photos or in person! And I really can’t wait for others to see it too!
