Tina Kotek

This portrait of then-gubernatorial candidate Tina Kotek was created with rainbow colored pencils.  This was created during the Oregon 2022 Gubernatorial Election.  The purpose of this portrait was to convince fellow Oregonians to vote for Tina to help secure human rights in Oregon in November of 2022.  She is now the first openly lesbian governor to serve in Oregon.  She was the only nominated candidate in the 2022 election who had a plan to help solve homelessness in Oregon, who wanted sensible gun legislation, and who stood up for LGBTQ rights.  The race was the first open race in many years and we were initially concerned Kotek wouldn’t win.   Thankfully, Oregon voters turned out in big numbers and Kotek became the next Governor.
