Portraits of Neurodiversity is a multi-portrait piece advocating for neurodivergent people as a whole. No person depicted in this piece is famous. I am autistic, and therefore identify as neurodivergent. I found each person through some Google searches. The rainbow colored pencil style of each portrait is to represent the “wide spectrum” of neurodiversity. Some butterflies are also in the portrait to reflect the beauty of “change” and “uniqueness” in neurodiversity. People who are neurodivergent are not always treated well by others, so this portrait was largely created in response to that. The many times have been made fun of or attacked by others felt like an attack on my being autistic.
