“Twirling Colors” is an abstract piece that gives the viewer a sense of colors happily “moving” and “twirling” in peace. The design was inspired by the background of The Calm State and Leota and represents a “cool” and “chill” mood. Max was inspired to do an abstract piece after thinking hard about doing one one day. He wanted to get colors on paper to evoke a calm mood, without thinking of form. He did not like the idea of using straight lines as he felt they did not evoke “calmness” and “peace.” This is one of Max’s few purely abstract paintings, though it still draws inspiration from previous pieces.
