“Hitchcock in Space” is a canvas piece with combinations of gouache and blacklight paint. This piece is based off a dream Max had with Alfred Hitchcock’s head floating in space. The background was painted in black with stars splattered using blacklight paint. A stencil of the horror director was painted separately on watercolor paper with blacklight paint. The stencil was then cut and glued on the canvas background. This painting is meant to give a “spacy” impression on the director’s iconic photo. While not referencing Hitchock’s films, it is an ode to how artistic this director was.
